Work Experiences:

  • At least three years of related work experience. 
  • Knowledge of a warehouse system preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration across all Departments, DCs and merchant divisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and directional shifts; with the ability to make decisions and act without having all of the information available.
  • Effective communication skills: active listening, written and verbal
  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills that allow the coordination and execution of multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Problem solver; able to gather data, compile information and prepare reports to Senior Leadership
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access. Warehouse Management Systems (Exeter WMS, Manhattan MAWM), Oracle RMS, ABi (Academy Business Intelligence), SQL experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with retail, distribution, and vendor compliance environments

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all activities for Vendor Compliance team, including inbound audits, PO trouble resolution, vendor chargebacks, special projects, escalation, and follow-up.
  • Manage a diverse workforce to include VC Coordinators and hourly team members
  • Acts as the initial contact for Vendor Compliance questions originating from DC management.  
  • Consistently enforce safety guidelines, maintaining a clean work area, and sustaining a safe work environment for Academy team members.
  • Maintain quality/accuracy standards to ensure efficient internal operations and order integrity to our internal and external customers
  • Sustain key operational metrics such as quality, accuracy, productivity, and level of service
  • Conduct regular observations such as safety or process adherence
  • Coordinates all vendor charge backs that occur due to non-compliance with Academy's policies.
  • Supervise team workload and partners with Sr Manager to prioritize activities.
  • Continuously reviews existing activities for opportunities to automate and streamline manual processes.
  • Reviews and documents audit results and findings. Analyzes data to find key trouble areas and works with vendors to improve future shipments.
  • Analyzes compliance results and collaborates with VC team members in all Distribution Centers to identify key receiving issues.
  • Supports DC with PO trouble resolution by contacting vendors and merchants, and escalating issues as needed. Communicates corrective action needed and advises DC of outcome.
  • Maintains the audit databases and coordinates upgrades for reporting purposes.
  • Generates various reports as requested, including weekly and monthly reports to measure team performance.
  • Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and development of team members.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews and goal setting with VC team members. 
  • Required to learn company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Duties may change and team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
