Acadian Companies has an opportunity for a HR Generalist to join our team in Lafayette, LA. The HR Generalist will provide broad spectrum HR knowledge and consulting services, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance is maintained and company policies are applied consistently. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with management and Corporate HR team to minimize legal exposure and maximize performance by anticipating problems, advising of risks associated with current business practices and recommending improvements.
  • Works with management to address employee relations issues including conflict resolution and workplace investigations, providing guidance related to employment and corrective action.
  • Responds to human resources related questions and issues from managers and employees (e.g. performance, discipline, termination, etc.) to ensure accurate and consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures.
  • Reports any compliance-related concerns and works through appropriate resolution.
  • Assists with recruiting candidates and onboarding new hires for operations and support divisions.
  • Ensures data integrity related to EEO statistics, affirmative action, retention, employment surveys, staffing and various HR metrics.
  • Administers and maintains ongoing knowledge of Acadian's leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal, state, and accommodation leave laws. 
  • Supports and disseminates Corporate HR department initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Human Resources required.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites.
  • Travel to assigned areas is required.

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Federal and State employment laws with the ability to understand and apply such legal requirements and complex policies to all work. 
  • Excellent analytical and communications skills are required, both written and verbal, with the ability to organize and express ideas clearly and articulate legal requirements and policies to management and employees. 
  • Superior customer service skills.
