Description

Accessible Space Inc. (ASI) is a national nonprofit organization providing housing and supportive living services to individuals with physical disabilities, seniors, and veterans.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Grant Writer to contribute to ASI's mission by securing public and philanthropic funding for Accessible Space, Inc. and its nonprofit affiliates at our Administrative office in St Paul.

A hybrid work schedule is available!

In this role, you will be responsible for managing relationships with potential funders to ensure timely submission of proposals that align with their priorities and limitations. You will also need to research and identify new funding opportunities for ASI's general operations. Collaborating with senior administrative staff, you will seek out potential funding prospects and coordinate the submission of applications to various entities such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and city/county/state programs.

Additionally, you will support ASI's low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) developments. You will closely with senior administrative staff to prepare and submit applications for programs like the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME, Housing Trust Fund, Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program, and other available funds from government or private sources.

You will also collaborate with ASI's President/CEO to create a submission calendar and update it with new sources as needed.

Qualifications: A minimum of seven years of incredibly successful experience in a fundraising/grant writing role, demonstrating the effective management of multiple tasks and priorities.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required, along with the ability to learn other commercial and custom software programs. The candidate must be excellent at building and maintaining strong working relationships with funders, regulators, managers, internal support functions, and external organizations. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are necessary, as well as a proven ability to create compelling proposals from strategic research and demographic data.

Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate confidence in their ability to work effectively as part of a team on large-scale, time-sensitive projects.
