Our 50-unit residential apartment building isn't just housing — it's a launchpad for Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). As a program of Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI), Line Drive is a purpose-built sanctuary for those who have served our country and those overcoming physical challenges. Our community is home to both veterans who have experienced homelessness and adults living with physical or cognitive disabilities. Residents transition here after receiving initial care and stabilization at the CARES campus, living in a space that balances independence with 24/7 supportive resources. Our culture is one of unwavering respect and relentless support.

We are seeking Safety Specialists to maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

The Safety Specialist responsibilities:

  • Monitor the building, entrances, common areas, and surrounding property and investigate any identified suspicious activity. Monitor for prohibited activities such as unauthorized visitors, substance use, or property damage
  • Respond appropriately to any identified safety concerns, emergencies, or disturbances, reporting to other staff on duty, alerting management staff, or seeking assistance from local emergency responders, as appropriate.
  • Intervene in conflict situations to de-escalate redirect disruptive behavior using safe and appropriate communication techniques. Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and safety threats according to established protocols. Coordinate with emergency services when required.
  • Participate in required emergency drills and safety training.
  • Document incidents, accidents, and maintenance issues in incident reports and logs.
  • Maintain a respectful and professional presence with residents, staff, and guests while promoting compliance with building policies. Enforce building rules and safety policies consistently and respectfully.

 

Safety Specialist Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in security, residential services, behavioral health, or human services.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with individuals with mental health concerns substance use disorders and/or disabilities.
