About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Operations Supervisors to join our growing Production team at Huntly. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of skilled professionals to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of our production facilities. These positions will be offered on a 12 hours 5 panel production roster working 2 days, 2 nights and 5 off.
These roles will be instrumental in supporting the Mine Development team. Additionally, these positions will play a crucial role in fostering a strong safety culture within the mining team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching to your team.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
Identify and develop talent within the team.
Drive continuous improvement through lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
Optimize production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
Prioritize safety as the highest value.
Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Effectively allocate resources to support team objectives.
Manage budgets and control costs.
Identify and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
Make sound decisions under pressure.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.

In depth knowledge of Mine Operations
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams
Demonstrated versatility, strong coordinating skills, and capable of rapidly acquiring familiarity with and responding to diverse and changing environments.
A high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills
As this is one of our key leadership roles, you should either possess or be willing to complete the Section 26 – Statutory Supervisor training, as set out in Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022. Alcoa will provide support in obtaining this training. At the time of application, you should also have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership position.

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa's Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
