About the Role:

The Shift Supervisor is accountable to provide leadership for the operational, and administrative services in the Potrooms to meet both safety and production goals. Operate pot lines at peak efficiency to gain maximum quality production. Monitor operations to ensure proper SOP's are being performed and utilize materials and process control computer to control quality and costs. Handle experimental projects and maintains manpower requirements.

Manage assigned resources in compliance with EHS policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business. Support key safety initiatives such as Behavior Based Safety, Audit processes, Safety Council activities, Safety Advisors, etc.

Manage the day-to-day operation of the Potrooms to ensure costs meet, or better, the departmental expense budgets. Accountable to ensure work hours, headcount, KPI's, and inventories meet Plan.

Support departmental APS activities. Apply APS principles to identify and implement improvements to production process.

Key responsibilities:

Provide mentorship, counseling and support to direct reports to ensure their personal development and positive contribution towards achieving departmental goals.

  • Accountable for direct reports following standard operating procedures such that processes remain stable and product quality consistently meets or exceeds customer requirements. Maintain open line of communications with his/her counterpart in the customer's organization.
  • Serve as shift decision maker/SPA for such items as planned maintenance priorities, special engineering projects, production / process and crew scheduling, etc.
  • Coordinate the delivery of molten metal to meet the needs of the Ingot Plant.
  • Work with Technical Process Leader reports to coordinate efforts on developmental projects and to correct pot inefficiencies.
  • Work to improve communication processes between hourly and salary.
  • Assign daily tasks and audit performances to ensure conformance. Take corrective action when required.
  • Directs and controls activities during emergency operations in the potrooms during off shifts.

Preferred candidate has supervisory experience. Manufacturing experience preferred.  Ability to provide leadership, achieving results and driving change is required.

Demonstrated PC skills are required, including: Excel, Word, Outlook

Base salary: $66,500 - $98,500 USD annuallyTotal rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.
