THE ROLE:

AMD's Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group (AECG) has an opportunity for a Staff Technical Writer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will create technical documentation for internal and external customers of AECG products. 

 

THE PERSON:

The candidate should be a dynamic, innovative individual who has demonstrated success in both technical content creation and project management.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create clear, effective, user-focused technical documentation for highly technical audiences
    • Documents include functional safety and security user guides and application notes for AECG products
  • Effectively plan and track projects, and capably report project status and issues both up and down in the organization
  • Understand and promote usability and product goals
  • Promote cross-team collaboration and engagement among global subject matter experts, marketing, and technical support staff
  • Manage multiple projects through shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Adhere to established technical writing standards

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience writing technical documentation for a major product, product suite, or technology
  • Experience managing multiple projects using collaborative platforms (e.g., Confluence, Jira)
  • Proficiency with structured authoring/DITA is required; experience with IXIA CCMS is beneficial
  • Experience with graphics applications, such as Microsoft Visio or Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience with functional safety and security documentation is a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BA in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field
