THE ROLE:  

AMD is looking for a software engineer who can contribute to the infrastructure stack that accelerates the development of our inference efforts across AMD. Our goal is to reduce the time to performance with inference on AMD accelerators. Our strategy focuses on empowering developers within AMD as well in the larger AI ecosystem through the enablement of modern software development practices leveraging the scale of the open-source ecosystem. 

THE PERSON:  

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for Software engineering development, and is diligent and passionate about Technology. A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge in computer technologies, leadership skills in technical areas, and SW engineering expertise as well as a strong ability to compete effectively in a fast-paced, relevant environment while working with different teams of engineers and collaborators. 

The ideal candidate would be interested in not only contributing to the overall infrastructure stack but also contributing to our own new nascent inference engine helping improve the overall software stack both in a single node and multi node configuration 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Contribute to major components of our CI/CD infrastructure 

• Contribute to major components of our overall distributed serving product 

• Collaborate with open-source developers to guide the ecosystem in adjacent projects. 

• Drive additional contributions to our inference engine either helping it scale to multiple nodes and / or helping drive optimizations of key models on AMD GPUs 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

• 5+ years of experience 

• Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail 

• At least 1+ year of experience in one category called out under preferred experience. 

• Develop and drive execution of comprehensive, highly effective software for sophisticated new technology and new product introduction projects   

• Validate new SW features before releasing them to customers   

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

• At least two of the below would be perfect 

• Object-oriented programming background in languages such as Python. Many of our scripts are in Python though other languages that are Kubernetes friendly like Go would be a huge plus 

• Experience with major Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, OCI, OpenShift, or GCP 

• Experience or at least interest in developing in Open Source or with integrating various CI/CD technologies. 

• Experience with IaC such as Terraform 

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
