THE ROLE:
We are seeking a results-driven Program Manager who thrives in fast-paced environments. You will be instrumental in driving the success of customer programs by ensuring seamless product delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, and meeting customer expectations. With strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills, you will manage complex projects and priorities, aligning product solutions with business goals while delivering impactful results.

THE PERSON:
You will manage customer accounts and portfolios, ensuring alignment between AMD's deliverables and customer needs. Collaborating with engineering and cross-functional teams, you will define requirements, create schedules, and track progress through the product lifecycle. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that AI Framework software development aligns with key releases like ROCm, system bring-up efforts, and departmental demands (PMO, Customer Management, Hardware, and Strategic).
Your leadership will ensure successful execution, exceeding customer expectations, while maintaining alignment with AMD's strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program & Project Management:
- Define, drive, and manage project plans, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Oversee projects of various scales, ensuring timely execution, technical alignment, and quality control.
- Maintain project artifacts (schedules, forecasts, risk/issue logs) and apply realistic planning principles.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Facilitate transparent communication across teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Proactively resolve dependencies and issues to minimize delays.
- Provide clear status updates through dashboards and reports for stakeholders at all levels.
- Risk, Issue, & Change Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure timely project delivery.
- Implement corrective actions to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
- Apply change management principles to ensure smooth transitions and effective handling of adjustments.
- Execution & Process Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvements to enhance project efficiency and team productivity.
- Lead successful project initiation and execution with clear milestones and actionable plans.
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects with well-defined objectives and deliverables.
- Strategic Alignment & Quality Control:
- Align projects with business strategy to ensure long-term success.
- Maintain quality control standards to meet client and internal expectations.
- Planning, Tools, & Expertise:
- Plan projects with realistic timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Leverage subject matter expertise to guide decisions and ensure technical feasibility.
- Utilize project management tools (Jira, Asana, Wrike) to track progress and ensure smooth execution.
- Project Closure: Ensure proper project closure by reviewing outcomes, documenting lessons learned, and gathering insights for future projects.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Technical Expertise: Strong experience in technical software or IT industries and experience with ROCm Framework Software development is preferred.
- Project Management & Leadership:
- Proven experience in program management, including hands-on experience with horizontal leadership and matrix management.
- People management experience is a plus.
- Project management certifications (PMP, Scrum Master) and/or formal change management (PROSCI, ITIL) certification are highly desirable.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across teams and at all levels, including executive management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presentations, status reporting, and documentation.
- Tools & Methodologies: Proficiency with productivity and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics and/or a related field and 3+ years of experience.
- Formal project management certification (PMP, Scrum Master) preferred.
- PROSCI and ITIL certifications (a plus).
