AMD is searching for a Business Planner who will help to define and drive our EPYC Datacenter CPU business and strategy.  This person will join the Cloud Business Group, a tightly knit team of seasoned and high-output professionals who collectively drive AMD's Datacenter Strategy and business development activities for the Cloud Sement.  The success of the Cloud Group is built on ownership and delivery of results for the rapidly growing server business.  The team operates in deep partnership with stakeholders across product, finance, and operations.

 

The Person:

An ideal candidate for this role will be a self-directed, high-output individual with a background in the datacenter server market with previous experience in driving business planning and strategy.  Equally important, a candidate should have experience or strong interest in the business management of products and technology.  Additional key attributes for success in our fast-paced culture include:

  • Executive presence and credibility needed to influence senior leadership in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to synthesize and convey concepts into proposal, requirements, and action plans
  • Exceptional communication skills – both listening and written / verbal – to facilitate alignment with a range of internal stakeholders
  • Skill in analyzing tradeoffs and making analytical, fact-based recommendations that have substantial technical, business, and financial impacts
  • Ability to build relationships with strategic customers and partners to ensure that AMD enterprise products meet or exceed the evolving needs of the market
  • Collaboration skills to engage a team of operations, finance, and business development professionals to achieve outstanding business results

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Collect, synthesize, and align market and business trends through collaboration with customer and 3rd party entities
  • Develop and maintain a view on market segmentation, sizing, and profit pools
  • Analyze and understand unique opportunities for growth of the business across segments, workloads, and adjacencies
  • Drive implementation of strategic initiatives across the server business unit and in partnership with the BU teams

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Five or more years driving business planning
  • Working knowledge of modern server market and ecosystem
  • Understanding of financial and pricing treatment for various business deal structures
