THE ROLE:

This technical role is for Client Sensor and Platform Management (PMF / ASM) solution FET (Feature Enablement Team) leader. The individual will be responsible for Sensor and PMF/ASM solution enablement and successful delivery on AMD client APU products. PMF (Platform Management Framework) is AMD's rule-based platform policy engine that dynamically adapts system power, thermal and performance behavior based on user scenarios and platform inputs; ASM (Auto State Management) is the state machine inside PMF that selects among different states to balance power efficiency and responsiveness. The individual will primarily collaborate with cross-functional teams including SFH, PMF & ASM, BIOS, FW / SW / Validation teams, driving the solution end-to-end through post-silicon, with pre-silicon involvement where applicable. ISP (Image Signal Processor) experience and AI (e.g. on-device AI inference, NPU workload deployment, Copilot+ PC AI features) experience are both a good plus.

 

THE PERSON:

The person needs to be self-motivated for deliveries and innovation, a quick learner with a strong sense of ownership. Strong problem-resolving mindset, cross-team driving capability and good communication skills are essential for this leadership role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Drive post-silicon Sensor and PMF/ASM solution enablement from bring-up to product for AMD's newest client APU products. Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions covering functionality, power, performance and stability. Predict execution risks and provide mitigation plans. As the FET (Feature Enablement Team) leader, drive solution delivery across IP, BIOS, FW, driver and OEM customer engagements.

 

  • Pre-Silicon:
  • Sensor / PMF / ASM feature list and BU test plan development. 
  • Review and approve IP and System validation test plans; coordinate overall platform test coverage and strategy.
  • Collaborating with emulation team for emulation task to reduce post silicon risks if applies. 

 

  • Post-Silicon:
  • Bring-up and collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW, BIOS, FW, driver, diag, SW, OEM) for Sensor, PMF and ASM feature enablement and solution delivery.
  • End-to-end debug and drive of Sensor / ISP / PMF / ASM issues as FET leader, owning the issue from triage through closure.
  • Customer technical support: engage OEM partners on Sensor / PMF / ASM / ISP integration, tuning and field issues.
  • Drive platform-level power / performance / responsiveness tuning leveraging PMF policy and ASM state behavior; partner with PPL and P&P attainment teams.

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Knowledge of x86 client computer hardware architecture and APU sub-systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows; Linux exposure a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with platform Sensor solutions (e.g. human presence detection, ambient light, accelerometer / magnetometer, posture / on-lap / in-bag detection) — sensor hub, ACPI / HID integration, driver stack.
  • Working experience with platform system management / power-performance tuning frameworks (e.g. AMD PMF, Intel DPTF or equivalent) — policy authoring, state machine behavior, telemetry-driven dynamic tuning.
  • Experience developing and executing bring-up and feature validation test plans; strong debug skills across HW / FW / driver / OS layers.
  • Proven cross-team driving ability — able to align IP design, BIOS, FW, driver, validation and OEM stakeholders toward a common delivery milestone.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Team leader / Project leader experience required.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Pre-silicon experience for Sensor / PMF / ASM features.
  • Forward thinker who continuously improves process and drives innovation.
  • Scripting and automation tool development skills.
  • AI development or AI deployment experience — hands-on with on-device AI inference, NPU / GPU workload deployment, or Copilot+ PC AI features (Windows Studio Effects, Recall, Cocreator, etc.) — strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Image Signal Processor (ISP) / camera pipeline — sensor tuning, IQ, MIPI / CSI, camera driver and FW integration — a good plus.
  • Familiarity with OEM Windows platform certification / WHCK / Modern Standby tuning a plus.

 

  ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master with 5+ years' experience or Bachelor with 8+ years' experience; minimum 3 years' experience focused on platform Sensor and system management tools (such as AMD PMF / Intel DPTF / equivalent platform power & performance management frameworks).
  • Electronic and Computer Sciences or related Majors
