The Role:

 

The AMD Law Department is seeking a seasoned in-house counsel to join our team to support AMD's Server CPU business group, reporting to the Corporate Vice President, Legal for AMD Datacenter Solutions.  You will work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where you will draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, counsel clients, and lead a small team supporting the engineering, sales and business unit organizations that develop, market, and sell AMD's industry-leading EPYC™ server CPU products.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Drafting and negotiating agreements with customers for platform development, product marketing, product sales and support, and other related activities.
  • Drafting and negotiating inbound and outbound technology license agreements and engineering services agreements in support of product development.
  • Drafting and negotiating inbound and outbound software licensing agreements (including client counseling regarding use of open-source software).
  • Counseling clients regarding contract interpretation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Managing, coaching, and developing attorney and paralegal employees on your team.
  • Developing and delivering training to internal clients regarding legal and compliance topics.
  • Coordinating with various internal functions, including operations and finance, in support of business activities.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Expertise in commercial contracts, technology transactions and software licensing.
  • Semiconductor or computing industry experience is preferred.
  • In-house legal department experience is preferred.

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent) required.
  • Active U.S. state bar license
