Fall 2024 Technical Writer Co-op/Intern
LOCATION: Austin, Texas.
ONSITE/HYBRID: These roles require the student to work full time (40 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the intern term.
PROGRAM TERM:
Fall: August 19th, 2024, to December 13th, 2024.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The AMD Client Business Unit's Technical Documentation Department is looking for a Technical Writer intern with the knowledge and ability to write and edit engineering-level documents for x86-based computer hardware and software. In addition, experience with Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Visio, Jira, and Confluence is preferred. Knowledge of DITA XML is a plus.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of x86 processor architecture.
• Knowledge of motherboards that support x86 processors.
• Ability to write about hardware and software as it relates to x86 processors and infrastructure.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment following prescribed processes for delivering NDA documentation to engineers.
• Ability to work on multiple documents concurrently.
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
• Demonstrates initiative in defining process and documentation issues and offering solutions.
• Demonstrates ability to work with minimal supervision and to solve problems independently.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited US university, preferable in Junior or Senior year.
• Studying Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer or Technical Writing.
