The Role
Seeking a Power Test Engineer to support PSU validation and test automation for next-generation server power platforms. The role focuses on firmware validation, regression testing, hardware characterization, and automated test development for data center power products.
Candidate Profile
- Self-driven with strong analytical and debugging skills
- Hands-on experience in power electronics testing and lab instrumentation
- Able to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Committed to automation and continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute functional, stability, and regression testing for server PSUs (FW validation)
- Validate power architectures (Totem-Pole PFC, LLC, digital control loops, protections)
- Develop and maintain automated test systems (Chroma, Python, C#)
- Operate lab equipment: AC sources, loads, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMMs, thermal chambers
- Utilize PMBus, I2C, UART, ModBus, CAN/CAN-FD for control, logging, and data validation
- Generate test plans, reports, and issue tracking documentation
- Support compliance validation (e.g., OCP ORV3 power shelf, capacitor shelf, BBU shelf, HVDC solutions)
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and system teams for root cause analysis and resolution
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years in server power validation
- Strong knowledge of power equipment control and setup
- Experience with automation frameworks, scripting, and lab integration
- Familiarity with PMBus and power management protocols
- Proficiency with tools such as Git, Jira, or Redmine
- Experience with datacenter power compliance testing is a plus
Education
master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
