Hardware Validation Engineer - DCGPU Power Management & SMU
The Role:
As SMU (System management unit) validation engineer in the Datacenter and GPU Accelerated Processing Division, you will play a critical role in emulating, enabling, validating and debugging hardware features for the latest Data Center GPUs. Join a dedicated team focused on SOC power management validation and contribute to the development of groundbreaking products in the AI and HPC markets.
The Person:
The ideal person for SMU validation role is driven by passion for technology and building exceptional products. You possess a strong understanding of power management hardware, including microprocessors, electrical circuits, voltage regulators, and SoC control fabric design, with a focus on subsystem and industry standard communication. Practical experience in ASIC emulation and bring-up, and both silicon and system validation are highly advantageous. Successful candidates should demonstrate excellent teamwork, critical thinking, self-motivation, and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute SMU hardware validation plan, including emulation, ASIC bring up and continued validation effort.
- Provide debug support and guidance at SMU perspective, triage and troubleshoot the system level issue.
- Support power management automation infrastructure, develop feature validation and debug analysis script.
- Proficient in Python and C programming, with experience in similar languages.
- Experience using laboratory equipment, including voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and high-speed probes
- Work with Customer engineering for critical customer engagements for continued product support in sustaining phase
- Understanding of RTL code with proven debug experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Several years of validation experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver multiple projects in a timely fashion.
- Prioritizing work items in a fast-paced environment and escalating as necessary.
- Experience in SoC product emulation and design verification.
Academic Credentials:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field
