THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Fellow-level Engineer to join our AMD Infinity Fabric team to develop world-class products around server, datacenter, client, discrete GPUs and game console products. In this role you will be engaged with Interconnect architects, micro architecture, RTL, DV/CAD/Methodology, and internal stakeholders to define end to end Transport Architecture that require technically analyzing, defining usage cases, and mapping across a broad spectrum of technologies achieve PPA uplift across a spectrum of AMD products.
THE PERSON:
You will possess very strong problem-solving skills and bring broad experience in Interconnect Architecture and micro-architecture RTL design, with a strong, self-motivated work ethic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Early architectural/performance exploration as well as micro-architectural definition and RTL design
- Power, performance, area and timing optimizations.
- Proven track record of tape-out experience with leading technology nodes like 10nm, 7nm and 5nm.
- Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration across multiple business units
- Create well written block level design documentation.
- Participate in post silicon functional and performance debug and tuning.
- Provide technical support to other teams such as verification and physical design teams.
- Mentor junior engineers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience designing logic blocks in CPU, GPU, NOC, or cache designs
- Strong understanding of digital electronics and high-speed designs(>1GHz)
- Strong understanding of multi-processor coherency, memory ordering, i/o ordering, interrupts, MMU and caches
- Excellent knowledge of Verilog and System Verilog as well as dood debugging and analytical skills
- Exposure to Design for Test, understanding of scan concepts and writing DFT friendly RTL.
- Working knowledge of C, C++ and a scripting language like Perl or Python
- Experience working seamlessly across engineering disciplines and geographies to deliver excellent results
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
