THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead Emulation and Prototyping Engineer to create hardware validation platforms and debug complex issues involving both hardware and software.
Our system integration and validation team develops hardware systems for pre-silicon and silicon validation of our advanced FPGA and ACAP families. We use both commercial emulation/prototyping systems and FPGA evaluation boards. Our objective is to develop platforms pre-tapeout to functionally validate the latest silicon features.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is self-driven, methodical, and enjoys troubleshooting / problem-solving. The individual proactively seeks to address challenges across the team and project. The person has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop pre-silicon hardware setups using commercial / custom prototyping and emulation platforms
- Collaborate with design, verification and validation teams to debug issues found on the platforms and final silicon.
- Improve internal processes and innovate in the area of hardware emulation/prototyping.
- Manage projects and guide members of the team to execute tasks efficiently.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Fluent in Verilog/System Verilog/VHDL hardware design languages
- Experience developing systems or IPs for FPGAs, including simulating, and validating the designs.
- Experience using FPGA synthesis and implementation tools with good understanding of output products at each stage.
- Understanding and analysis of timing reports.
- Working knowledge of Linux environment.
- Experience with scripting languages including Perl, Python, Unix shells and Makefiles
- Broad software development/debug experience with C/C++
- Have worked with the leading prototyping/emulation vendors (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor) to debug issues and deploy new capabilities
- Experience using Xilinx Ultrascale or Versal FPGAs, Vivado, and Vivado Debug
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces including QSFP, PCIe, USB, SATA, GB Ethernet, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5, HBM
- Knowledge of devices including SPI, I2C, SD, eMMC, QSPI, OSPI
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
