THE ROLE
The Manager of NPI Planning plays a critical leadership role in bringing AMD's next generation of products to market. You will lead global NPI planning activities that support board assembly and system integration, partnering closely with internal business teams, supply chain organizations, IT, and external manufacturing partners. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence product launch success from concept through volume production, driving operational excellence, improving processes, and enabling timely, high‑quality product introductions in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead end‑to‑end NPI planning schedules and deliverables to ensure successful, on‑time product launches
- Oversee build plan execution for proof‑of‑concept and engineering builds, identifying risks and driving mitigation plans early
- Serve as the primary escalation point for NPI readiness issues, partnering with stakeholders to resolve blockers quickly
- Collaborate closely with business units, supply chain partners, and contract manufacturers to align priorities and timelines
- Drive process improvements, develop operational dashboards, and track KPIs against annual objectives
- Manage NPI cost analysis, identify cost‑reduction opportunities, and partner with suppliers on improvement initiatives
- Oversee cross‑charging for NPI services and monitor capacity planning across partner manufacturing sites
- Lead excess and obsolete inventory programs and coordinate material movements between sites as needed
- Provide regular, clear updates to leadership on planning, supply risks, and readiness status
- Partner with IT teams to drive adoption of new tools, technologies, and best practices that support NPI execution
- Leadership experience managing planning, program, or project management teams
- Strong understanding of NPI supply chain processes, including procurement, planning, materials management, and logistics
- Experience solving complex supply and demand challenges in electronics manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of electronics manufacturing operations such as IQC, SMT, PTH, assembly, testing, and packaging
- Experience supporting systems integration and working with contract manufacturing partners
- Strong analytical skills with experience using material planning techniques and operational KPIs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and planning or enterprise systems
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or a related field preferred
- Austin, Texas
This role may require occasional international travel to meet with global teams and suppliers.
