THE TEAM: 

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI-based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. THE ROLE: 

As a member of the pre-silicon performance verification team, you will be a technical contributor that drives end-to-end delivery of solutions for SOC RTL simulation and Hardware emulation. The ideal candidate has experience leading others in technical and managerial settings.  

 

THE PERSON: 

Passionate about solving real-world datacenter GPU performance problems. Likes to get hands dirty solving actual performance problems in massive deployments of datacenter GPUs. Loves performance optimization and the challenge of unsolved problems. An able communicator and effective influencer; adept at strategic, critical and analytical thinking. An effective team player who is adaptable and leverages collaboration to come up with innovative solutions. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: 

  • Lead and mentor high-performance engineering team.  

  • Collaborate with multi-functional leaders to drive AMD's success. 

  • Coordinate test plan development & execution, debug and analysis of results on the full-chip emulation platform/RTL simulator. 

  • Lead team, meet schedule commitments and provide strong support to stakeholders. 

  • Identify technical problems, break them down, summarize solutions and guide the team to make progress. 

  • Identify and implement automation wherever possible to improve productivity. 

  • Identify and implement improvements to the methodologies and processes for better efficiency. 

  • Identify potential risks in the verification process and devise mitigation plans. Implement proactive measures to avoid project delays and ensure robust performance verification. 

  • Coordinate with post-silicon teams to ensure smooth transition. 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • A strong leader with experience working with a distributed team. Proven experience managing and leading engineering teams. 

  • Solid pre-silicon performance verification experience on GPUs or similar complex architectures at SOC level. 

  • Excellent knowledge of CPU and/or GPU architecture, performance metrics, graphics pipeline, memory subsystem. 

  • Excellent knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog and UVM. 

  • Experience in performance modeling and simulation tools. 

  • Good knowledge of C/C++, Python or other scripting languages. 

  • Strong communications skills. Summarize complex problems for executive leadership as well as drill down to details with architects and engineers. 

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze current behavior, identify potential areas for improvement and design of experiment.  

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with architects, RTL design teams, and post-silicon validation teams. 

  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills . 

  • Self-starter and self-motivated. 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

 

Minimum - Bachelor's degree +12 years' experience or Master's degree + 10 years' experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field.
