THE ROLE:

The Cable & Connector MPM is responsible for managing supplier quality performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring robust NPI (New Product Introduction) and mass production readiness for cable and connector components used in AI compute and server platforms. This role bridges between internal engineering teams and external suppliers to secure quality, reliability, and delivery targets through proactive qualification, process audits, and issue resolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Supplier Quality Management

Lead supplier qualification, process audit, and PPAP/FAI readiness for cable and connector suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance (yield, DPPM, 8D closure, on-time delivery) and drive corrective/preventive actions.

Define inspection criteria and quality gates for key components (e.g., high-speed signal cables, power connectors, cable harness assemblies).

Evaluate and approve supplier process change requests (PCN/ECN) and material substitutions.

2.NPI and Process Control

Collaborate with internal SI, ME, and EE teams during EVT/DVT/PVT to validate cable and connector quality readiness.

Support DFx/DFM reviews for manufacturability, reliability, and assembly feasibility.

Develop quality control plans (CTQ, Cpk, SPC) and ensure mass-production transition compliance.

Lead supplier side troubleshooting for build failures (open/short, continuity, pin retention, plating, impedance, etc.).

Support supplier technical review meetings, yield improvement initiatives, and joint engineering reviews.

3.Failure Analysis and Continuous Improvement

Coordinate supplier FA on electrical/mechanical failures, including pull-force, microsection, solderability, and EDX/XRF analysis.

Review FA reports and validate root cause, corrective action, and recurrence prevention.

Implement lessons learned into design standards and supplier quality manuals.

Drive process improvements through DOE, PFMEA, and Lean/6σ methodology.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

10+ years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering related to cable, connector, or harness assembly.

Strong knowledge of IPC-620, IPC-610, UL, ISO9001/14001, and connector reliability test methods (e.g., continuity, contact resistance, pull force, salt spray, thermal cycling).

Experience with high-speed cable assemblies (PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, QSFP, or similar), and connector plating/material analysis.

Familiar with DFMEA, 8D, SPC, CPK, PFMEA, and structured problem-solving methodology.

Experience with supplier audits, PPAP, process validation, and FA verification.

Fluent in English and Mandarin; able to communicate effectively across regions.

Hands-on and data-driven mindset with strong ownership and teamwork attitude.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
