Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic Platform Architect for our next‑generation products. In this role you will define and evolve the holistic architecture of complex hardware/software platforms, ensuring subsystems integrate seamlessly to meet performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost objectives. You will work at the intersection of hardware design, firmware, software, thermal/mechanical engineering, and manufacturing to drive architectural decisions, evaluate and adopt enabling technologies, and establish platform standards that guide implementation across programs. You will shape platform roadmaps, produce high‑level and detailed architecture artifacts, and partner with program teams to ensure designs are realized through development, validation, and production readiness.

THE PERSON:

You are a recognized subject matter expert in platform architecture with a proven ability to influence engineering direction across multiple programs. You bring broad cross‑domain experience and strong communication skills to align hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing stakeholders. You are comfortable making tradeoffs to balance performance, cost, schedule, and risk, and you mentor engineers on architecture best practices, design patterns, and system‑level thinking. You make data‑driven decisions, provide clear technical guidance, and raise engineering quality through coaching and leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and maintain overall platform architecture, encompassing hardware, firmware, and software elements.
  • Translate product requirements into architectural specifications, block diagrams, and interface definitions, and verification criteria.
  • Perform trade‑off analysis between performance, cost, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Drive technology selection for memory, storage, connectivity, management controllers, and power/thermal subsystems.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, NVMe, IPMI/Redfish, SMBus/I²C, security frameworks).
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineers, Chief Engineers, and Product Management to define and maintain platform roadmaps.
  • Lead cross‑functional architecture reviews, resolving subsystem integration challenges.
  • Provide technical oversight during design, validation, manufacturing readiness, and field deployment.
  • Identify risks early in the product lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor engineers in architectural methods, system modeling, documentation standards, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven architectural leadership in complex compute or embedded products.
  • Deep expertise in hardware/software co‑design and system integration.
  • Experience across multiple platform domains: compute architecture, I/O subsystems, power and thermal design, management interfaces, and platform security.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience performing architecture trade‑offs and risk assessments.
  • Excellent leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering architectures that successfully proceed through design, validation, and production.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with high‑density servers, networking equipment, or industrial embedded systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of security architecture, compliance requirements, and lifecycle management from concept to support.
  • Ability to work with geographically distributed engineering teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

Location:

  • Santa Clara, CA
  • Austin, TX
  • Seattle, WA

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
