THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will join the PMM (Power Management) team as an MTS System Design Engineer focused on driving AI transformation across PMM engineering workflows.

This role requires a strong combination of hands-on PMM domain expertise and practical AI development capability. The candidate is expected to actively participate in Windows power and performance validation, ETL trace analysis, PMM feature enablement, test execution, and issue debugging. Through direct involvement in PMM engineering activities, the candidate will identify high-value opportunities to improve team productivity, debugging efficiency, knowledge reuse, and validation quality.

At the same time, the candidate will design and develop AI-powered solutions that transform how PMM engineers debug, validate, learn, and solve technical problems. This includes AI-assisted debugging, PMM Expert Agents, knowledge retrieval systems, automated test plan generation, workflow automation, and reusable AI capabilities that scale engineering expertise across the organization.

THE PERSON:

An experienced hands-on engineer with strong Windows power/performance debug skills and proven AI development experience.

You are comfortable analyzing ETL traces, debugging complex system issues, and collaborating with silicon, firmware, BIOS, OS, driver, and platform teams. You are also passionate about applying modern AI technologies to solve real engineering problems and improve how engineers work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform PMM validation, power/performance analysis, and issue debugging on AMD platforms.

· Analyze Windows ETL traces to investigate power, performance, and system behavior issues.

· Work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and drive issue resolution.

· Develop and improve PMM validation methodologies, test plans, automation, and debug processes.

· Identify opportunities to improve PMM productivity through AI and automation.

· Design and develop AI-powered solutions including PMM Expert Agents, AI-assisted debugging tools, knowledge retrieval systems, and automated test plan generation.

· Build reusable AI capabilities that leverage PMM documentation, historical debug knowledge, engineering tools, and validation data.

· Evaluate and apply modern AI technologies, including LLMs, AI Agents, workflow automation, and retrieval systems.

· Drive adoption of AI-enabled solutions across PMM engineering workflows.

PREFERRED SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

· 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, platform engineering, system software, validation, firmware, AI engineering, or related fields.

· Strong hands-on experience in Windows power and performance debugging.

· Strong experience with ETW / WPR / WPA / ETL trace collection and analysis.

· Strong understanding of PC architecture, operating systems, drivers, BIOS, firmware, and platform-level interactions.

· Knowledge of ACPI, power management, sleep/resume, performance analysis, and system-level debugging methodologies.

· Experience in validation, issue triage, root cause analysis, and debug closure.

· Strong Python scripting, automation, and engineering tool development skills.

· Demonstrated experience designing, building, and deploying AI-enabled applications based on LLMs, AI Agents, or related technologies for real-world engineering or productivity use cases, such as engineering copilots, debug assistants, technical knowledge systems, test generation tools, or workflow automation solutions.

· Experience with UEFI, BIOS, firmware, system software, silicon validation, or design verification would be a plus.

· Experience with power/performance engineering in PC, client, server, or semiconductor environments is preferred.

· Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

· Fluent written and spoken English.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related areas.

LOCATION:

· Shanghai, Pudong, Zhanjiang
