THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a strategic AI/ML SW/HW Co-Design Lead who is passionate about improving the performance of key AI/ML applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.  

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about AI/ML engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution from both SW and HW perspectives. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different architect engineers and teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with AMD's architect specialists to influence & improve future product designs
  • Apply a data-driven and structured approach to issue analysis and optimization efforts
  • Contribute to AMD software and hardware innovation, algorithms and architectural design changes
  • Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies
  • Drive and lead AI/ML software shift left efforts
  • Debug, analyze, resolve existing issues and explore more efficient alternatives, influence design enhancements for next-gen HW & SW.
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong object-oriented programming background, proficiency Python and C/C++ preferred
  • Experience on GPU programming(HIP/CUDA/ROCm) & performance profiling/optimization preferred
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs on Windows/Linux operating system development
  • Direct experience with or deep exposure to GPU/TPU/CPU hardware, subsystems or core blocks design
  • Familiar with GPU/TPU/CPU SOC architectures including SIMD/SIMT/Parallel Processing models, Cache/ Memory hierarchy subsystem
  • Familiar with training model & framework tunning is a plus
  • Knowledge of cluster and multi-node systems, AI/ML performance analysis, and SW simulation and emulation is a valuable asset
  • Effective communication, issue analysis and  problem-solving skills
  • Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
