Principal Systems Product Engineer - AI GPU

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic Lead / Principal Systems Product Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading rack scale technologies to market. The Systems Product Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
As a Leader in Systems Product Engineering function, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver Rack Level Product Roadmaps and analyze product development risk and manufacturability.
- Establish Verification & Validation strategies and DOEs and lead execution with technical teams to identify and mitigate product risk, demonstrating the PRD (and CRDs) through pre/post silicon V&V and direct evaluation (DOE).
- Lead issue prioritization, root cause analysis, and solve product issues throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Establish documentation and design processes to meet production volumes and quality metrics.
- Communicate clear technical status, risk and mitigation strategies to leadership team and external stakeholders.
- Support design & development of NPI and mass production test for an AMD board product line (typically up to 20 variants/skus) to ensure optimal 4 corner test coverage.
- Own the management and transition readiness from a technical perspective, from NPI CM to MP CM and through TR to MP handover at the Rack Level.
- Coordinate external suppliers and subcontractors in support of design team.
- Drive customer issues and manage escalations in alignment with program manager.
- Define and Track KPIs, Capture and Drive Lessons Learned(post mortem) activities
- Identify and Drive process and procedure improvements to reduce errors, automate, shorten task time, and triaging.
- Propose solutions and work arounds through doe and data analysis to unblock critical activities in lab environment and manufacturing
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with GPU, CPU/Server
Experience with AINICs, Cabling, Network a plus.
Debug techniques and methodologies
Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization.
Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details. Experience with volume data analyses and dashboards a bonus.
Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
Experience in Interfacing with diagnostics or testing in manufacturing environment
Knowledge of DFT/DFX/DFM, ATE, System level test, BIST, reliability
Hands-on experience with pre and post silicon bring-up, product characterization, design margining, test to failure, test to system correlation, and manufacturing test environment.
Experience with burn-in tests, aging methodologies, HTOL a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters(preferred) degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Familiarity with quality control tools desirable
- Project Management Certification a bonus
