ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world's most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future.

Whether you're designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we'll advance your career.

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking an experienced PCB Design and Layout Engineer to support next-generation GPU and compute platforms. This role requires a self-driven engineer who can independently own complex PCB designs while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready hardware.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing complex printed circuit boards using industry-standard PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium, Zuken, PADS, or similar EDA platforms. You are comfortable taking technical ownership, making design decisions in fast-paced environments, and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end high-speed PCB design and layout for advanced GPU, CPU, and server platforms.
  • Define ASIC ball-out, component placement, routing strategy, stack-ups, and design constraints.
  • Develop and implement design rules for high-speed interfaces including PCIe, memory, SERDES, and power delivery networks.
  • Collaborate with Board Design, SI/PI, Mechanical, Thermal, Packaging, and Manufacturing teams to optimize design performance and manufacturability.
  • Execute PCB verification and design rule checks to ensure design quality and release readiness.
  • Drive designs from concept through fabrication, assembly, and production release.
  • Generate and review manufacturing outputs including ODB++, Gerbers, and fabrication documentation.
  • Contribute to PCB design methodologies, process improvements, and reusable design collateral.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior, recent years of PCB design and layout experience on complex, high-speed electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Altium, Zuken, PADS, or equivalent PCB CAD tools.
  • Expertise in high-speed routing, HDI technologies, dense BGA designs, stack-up development, impedance control, and power delivery.
  • Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience designing CPU, GPU, data center, or other high-performance computing platforms.
  • Experience partnering with Signal Integrity and Power Integrity teams.
  • Familiarity with ASIC-driven PCB development workflows and design automation initiatives.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
