WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
As a research associate in Research and Advanced Development, you will be part of AMD's next generation of technology innovations. You will work with diverse and talented teams. Our research associate program provides learning and career development opportunities. You will connect with leaders, receive one-on-one mentorship, and expand your career opportunities. You will collaborate with research team members to make contributions to our open-sourced libraries, academic papers, and patents.
This role will involve profiling studies on AMD Instinct GPUs to understand data movement during major workloads such as AI, LLMs, and common HPC subroutines. You will be using the ROCm software stack and profiler tools to understand the impact that various common compute patterns have on network-on-chip utilization and device interconnects, including working on potential optimizations to improve this utilization through novel data orchestration techniques or device-level behavior changes.
PLEASE HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING TECHNICAL SKILLS: (These will vary across different teams)
- AMD GPU programming (HIP C++, ROCm libraries/tools)
- Fine-grained memory operations in GPUs
- Network on chip concepts
- Software profilers
