THE ROLE

Join our team working on the ROCm Platform, an open-source, HPC/Hyperscale-class platform for GPU computing. We are seeking an experienced software engineer to develop, maintain, and support ROCm.

 

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in machine learning and driver development, contributing to the ongoing evolution of AMD drivers and future hardware. This role requires strong cross-component problem-solving skills and collaboration with other Compute and Machine Learning teams at AMD. Success in this role means thriving in a dynamic environment, showing initiative, and being passionate about building cutting-edge products.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop GPU drivers supporting Machine Learning and Data Center applications
  • Contribute to technically significant software projects
  • Solve complex, non-recurring problems and implement solutions
  • Debug, analyze, and resolve quality and certification issues reported by customers and QA
  • Write detailed design documents for new features
  • Collaborate closely with peers to ensure effective communication and timely delivery
  • Engage with developers in the open-source community

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Linux kernel development (core kernel or device drivers)
  • Solid understanding of PC architecture
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with GPU application development (compute, graphics, or multimedia)
  • Demonstrated contributions to open-source projects

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
