THE ROLE:
The Section Manager, Finance is a critical role in the success of the business. This role will partner with Business Unit leadership and other members of the Finance team to manage the accounting activities for the business unit. This includes owning all aspects of program and product accounting, contract review, internal/external audit engagement, SOX compliance, month-end close and financial reporting.
THE PERSON :
This person is expected to drive change, think independently, clearly communicate and support a point-of-view and recommendations, lead SOX risk assessments, readiness and process/control improvement initiatives to influence and drive action across functional team; and lead a team of finance analysts. A highly effective professional with strong business acumen, passion and proven track record for success in financial process improvement and operational transformation is desired.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and guide a team of professionals, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance.
- Regularly assess team performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of team deliverables to ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and compliance with relevant SOX, regulations, and company policies.
- Demonstrate excellence in business partnering by building strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs, and providing strategic insights and solutions that drive mutual success.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of challenging the status quo and driving organizational change.
- Facilitate a collaborative environment where knowledge and best practices are shared across the organization, enhancing overall business performance.
- Proactively identify opportunities to challenge and improve existing processes and practices, driving innovation and efficiency within the organization in responding to changing business priorities.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of general finance/accounting processes or finance compliance/auditing experience is required, 2-4 years of MNC-related working experience in managing a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to work effectively under pressure and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth understanding of control, risk management, and compliance processes
- Proficiency in using business intelligence tools, data analytics software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is added advantage
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably with accounting or professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MIA, etc is preferred.
