THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead to drive the modernization of AMD's AI build architecture. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about improving build systems and motivated to help scale the delivery of AMD's AI software stack.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architecture AMDs build system
- Contribute to major components of AMD's build system while leading a group of senior individual contributors
- Work with stakeholders across many component teams to help modernize dependent build systems
- Contribute to adjacent open-source projects taking leadership roles within them as needed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of experience
- Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
- Deep knowledge of build systems such as cmake and ninja as well as experience improving overall e2e build speeds both locally and as part of hosted runners.
- Experience with packaging of build systems
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Prior leadership experience guiding teams to develop infrastructure and/or developer tooling
- Prior experience modernizing a major build system leveraged by 100+ developers.
