THE ROLE:
As a Senior design automation engineer in our Adaptive & Embedded Computing Group (AECG) group, you will be responsible for improving quality and efficiency in our fabric design and physical implementation teams. You will help develop custom logic test structures, enable regressions, dashboards, and manage bugs reported by the engineering teams. There will be a need to introduce major features in our flows to help release IP, custom macros along with enabling efficient integration of those IP. You will be documenting and communicating flows with the larger design teams and presenting upcoming features and changes in project execution meetings. As a leading AI company, we will be leveraging all the available AI capabilities in the market today along with the many internal solutions available at AMD. You will need to work with cross functional teams like front-end design, circuit design, custom layout design, place and route, device modeling and device capture. You will be expected to innovate and deliver results, prioritizing critical tasks, and enable successful tape out and production of all IP in the organization.
THE PERSON:
A successful candidate will work with senior flow czars, central CAD teams, design, and implementation teams. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Execute AECG Project CAD team supporting Fabric development
- Enable new features and programs as identified by the team
- Qualify and maintain changes to the tools and flows from central CAD teams
- Support critical bugs and tickets as needed to enable smooth execution
- Enable regressions, dashboards using standard tools like MongoDB, Jira, Confluence
- Enable project infrastructure, centralized tool settings, auditing
- Communicate flow improvements and changes to project teams
- Leverage and deploy AMD solutions for the design and implementation teams
- Train junior team members and deliver on time results with quality
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- FPGA design knowledge
- Custom and ASIC design tools and flows
- Successful release or major features in prior projects
- Comfortable for Python and TCL, database and software algorithms
- Linux CSH, infrastructure enablement, project environment setup
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Visual Studio Code & Copilot
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
