THE ROLE:

The Senior Production Planner & Controller is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end production planning and control activities to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery of products. This role involves developing production schedules based on demand forecasts, coordinating with cross-functional teams including supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and manufacturing engineers, and optimizing resource utilization to meet customer requirements.

 

In addition, the role requires monitoring production performance, analyzing data to identify trends or bottlenecks, and implementing process improvements. The Senior Planner also plays a key role in managing the full product lifecycle—from new product introduction (NPI) to end-of-life (EOL).

 

This position demands strong analytical thinking, ERP/MRP system proficiency (SAP & Kinaxis), and effective leadership to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the production planning function.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Production Planner & Controller role is a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a solid background in production planning, supply chain operations, and ERP/MRP systems (SAP & Kinaxis). He/She possesses a deep understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory control, and demand forecasting, with a proven ability to balance supply and demand in a dynamic environment.

 

This individual is both strategic and hands-on—capable of developing forward-looking plans while managing daily operational challenges. They communicate effectively across departments, lead planning initiatives with minimal supervision, and are comfortable working with both internal teams and external partners such as 3PL providers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective production plans and schedules aligned with customer demand and company capacity.
  • Monitor and control production workflows to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Coordinate with procurement, inventory, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal raw material and finished goods inventory.
  • Handle Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory management processes.
  • Perform SAP transactions to support supply chain operations.
  • Oversee forecasting activities
  • Manage the entire Product Life Cycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Product Discontinuation Notice (PDN).
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality control, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the 3PL partner to coordinate Finished Goods Kitting activities and release production orders to the warehouse.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify bottlenecks, forecast capacity, and improve production efficiency.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives in production planning and control processes.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning and control, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP & Kinaxis) and advanced MS Excel skills.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Major: Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field
