THE ROLE: 

This is a lead engineering position responsible for Product Engineering program technical planning for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON: 

AMD is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced platform Hardware Engineer to work closely with internal development teams for AMD's cutting-edge Enterprise products. This individual will interface with the AMD internal hardware development and customer support team to assist and address Server platform design challenges. This includes enabling partners with critical knowledge of AMD technologies and platforms, and review customer platform design to drive the best practices to reduce time-to-revenue, and successfully scale AMD business. The candidate must be highly motivated, innovative, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. He or she must be able to quickly analyze different customer design scenarios to come up with the best approach to tackle tough problems.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Work with internal team to enable successful deployment of AMD server platforms by augmenting customer solutions with technical collateral, such as application note documentation, user guide on customization and tuning of reference design materials.
• Perform platform reviews (design, block-level, schematic, and layout review) and provide solutions to customers
• Enhance platform design documents and customer training material to improve overall customer design skill
• Analytic ability to address technical issues and generate creative solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• BS or MS in Electronic Engineering(or relative engineering fields)
• 10 years of h/w development experience in the computing industry, at the OEM, ODM, or technology provider level
• Strong technical skills with extensive hands-on experiences in performing electrical validation, Signal Integrity analysis, system design optimization.
• Strong knowledge in the following fields: PC/Server architecture, x86 processors, DDR, PCIE, SATA, USB, multiprocessor systems, and power management
• Experience in working with global customers and enabling them to production
• Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
• Ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations.
• Team player with passion and will to do whatever it takes for business success with a keen sense of urgency and strong drive
• Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive team results
• Fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin and English

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelors or Master's in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines.
