JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Leader to lead mechanical design team in AECG-TPE product development, with a strong focus on thermal module design and integration. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical integrity, thermal efficiency, and manufacturability of our products. Having a strong experience of guiding and driving vendors/suppliers on manufacturing process, technology, and implementation for AMD product R&D.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the mechanical engineering team in product design and development projects
- Responsible for the design and validation of thermal modules such as liquid cooling cold plates, heat sinks, vapor chambers, fan modules, etc.
- Evaluate and implement new materials and technologies to enhance thermal performance and design quality
- Analyze and resolve mechanical issues throughout the R&D and mass production phases
- Ensure documentation aligns with industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Collaborate with electrical, thermal simulation, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and serviceability
- Prepare detailed design specifications, technical documents, and test reports
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high quality, cost optimization, and to requirements
- Mentor and train junior engineers to strengthen the overall technical capability of the team
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical product design, with at least 3-5 years specializing in thermal module development
- Strong knowledge of various thermal solutions and mechanical design processes
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Pro/E, Creo, SolidWorks), and GT&T assembly tolerance analysis
- Familiarity with thermal simulation tools (e.g., Flotherm, Icepak) and mechanical FEA (Ansys)
- Demonstrated experience with DFM/DFA principles and their practical application.
- Working knowledge and understanding the strain measurement and pressure measurement for mechanical assembly.
- Understanding of spring force and screw torque correlation.
- Excellent project management skills and cross-functional communication abilities
- Team leadership experience is highly required
- Proficiency in both Chinese and English, with strong communication skills for working with overseas teams
A plus:
- Prefer to have been exposed to SoC, GPU/CPU, HPC, Data Center, package or system cooling designs area
- Experience with a MP assembly fixture design & DoE, product validation methodology including airflow, power, temperature, fluid leakage, pressure measurements
- Working knowledge of package and board warpage measurement using Shadow Morrie, DIC, X-ray, C-SAM, T-SAM etc.
