THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a lead systems engineer to provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to our growing team. THE PERSON: 

You are a highly motivated hands-on leader with a strong development background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capable of leading a highly technical team.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Install/Configure/Support/Scale-out Linux OS and HPC GRID infrastructure.
• Design and develop automation software in python or other equivalent scripting language.
• Operational experience running mission critical environments
• Help build multi-cloud HPC GRIDs with CPU/GPU/Cloud native compute/storage
• Working experience in EDA environments with NAS/Object backed storage
• Be a leader and mentor to the operation team; be hands-on and lead by example 
• Be able to hand-on troubleshoot and solve the technical issues; own the problem and drive for resolution  
• Able to proactively support team culture that fosters knowledge sharing, excellence, and collaboration  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Extensive experience in supporting EDA engineering compute grids and applications, from open source to in-house workflows.
• Excellent with Linux/Unix and NAS HPC for all types of Silicon Engineering and software development use cases.
• Superior experience in programming and debugging software and scripts written in C/C++/Python/PERL or similar languages.
• Strong hands-on experience in analysis, tuning, and improving of IT infrastructure for supporting software engineering and silicon designs.
• Large scale GRID/Unix/Linux system administration with 8+ years experiences in Unix/Linux systems administration, continuous deployment for NFS, Automounter based engineering environments.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred
