THE ROLE:
AMD is seeking an experienced Wireless Datapath Validation Engineer to drive validation of next-generation wireless infrastructure and networking solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for validating high-performance datapath functionality, protocol compliance, performance, and reliability across silicon and system platforms.
You will work closely with architecture, design, firmware, and software teams to ensure robust product quality and customer readiness.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute validation plans for wireless datapath and networking features.
- Validate packet processing, traffic management, QoS, buffer management, and congestion handling.
- Validate O-RAN, eCPRI, Ethernet, and timing-related features.
- Drive post-silicon bring-up, debug, and root-cause analysis across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
- Execute performance, stress, scalability, and reliability testing.
- Develop automation frameworks, regression suites, and validation infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issues to resolution and improve product quality.
- Work closely with the customer on regular basis to enable them with our products
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years experience in validation, networking, wireless communications, or embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of wireless systems, 4G/5G architectures, and O-RAN ecosystems.
- Experience with Ethernet, eCPRI, QoS, PTP/IEEE 1588, TCP/IP, and networking protocols.
- Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, protocol debugging, and system-level validation.
- Proficiency in Python, Linux, and test automation development.
- Experience with traffic generators, protocol analyzers, Wireshark, and performance benchmarking tools.
- Exposure to FPGA, emulation, or post-silicon validation environments is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
