THE ROLE: 

Are you a recent graduate in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Game Programming, or Game Design and Production?

AMD has opportunities for developers who are passionate about 3D games, have a deep interest in the latest rendering techniques, are passionate about visual quality, and are committed to advancing graphics for PC, console, and hand-held devices.

We are looking for people with a range of skills that can include C++, Python, vast experience playing AAA games, experience using optimization and debugging tools such as PIX, RenderDoc, and the Radeon Developer Tool Suite. 

This is an entry level position, so bring what you have, and we will help you learn the rest.

 

 

THE PERSON: 

As a Graphics Software Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assessing the compatibility and performance of the latest Direct3D 12 (D3D12) games with our internal graphics tools. You will be responsible for conducting thorough tests, capturing recordings and traces, and providing valuable insights that will drive the development and optimization of our graphics technologies. Your work will directly contribute to elevating the gaming experience for players worldwide.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of the latest games to evaluate their compatibility and performance with our internal graphics tools.
  • Work closely with the development team to understand the objectives and requirements for graphics tool integration and optimization.
  • Gather detailed recordings and traces of gameplay scenarios to analyze performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Document and report any issues or irregularities encountered during testing, providing clear and concise feedback to development teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement testing strategies and methodologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in graphics technology and gaming.
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, C++.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • A passion for gaming and a keen interest in graphics technology.
  • Experience in the gaming industry or with game testing.
  • Experience with graphics testing tools and techniques, including performance analysis and tracing.
  • Experience with graphics debugging and profiling tools.
  • Familiarity with modern game engines and development pipelines.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer/software engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
