SENIOR LEAD SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who can partner with cross-functional teams to steer the future of platform security and create a long-term vision for securing AMD products, collaborating with hardware, software, research, and marketing groups.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering, security, safety and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD. Investigate, design, and build architectural solutions that fulfill both internal and external compliance and protection standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with AMD's architecture specialists to improve future products.
- Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to security algorithms and architecture.
- Develop technical relationships with peers, and engineering teams.
- Work collaboratively across divisions to influence and drive security strategy and architecture for AMD products.
- Research and engineer architecture frameworks that meet rigorous protection and compliance criteria.
- Review design specifications and source code to validate that security requirements are embedded at all levels of the product stack.
- Partner with customers, partners, and internal teams to identify / triage vulnerabilities and provide effective remediation guidance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant industry experience in security and safety architecture, system design.
- Prior exposure to hardware design processes and complex system architectures such as large SoCs or GPUs.
- Strong programming and debugging skills across languages like C/C++, scripting languages, and mastery with security and safety principles.
- Effective communication and problem-solving and proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Hands-on involvement with secure boot, measured boot, secure communication and other platform security mechanisms.
- Understanding of threat modeling, penetration testing, and cryptographic fundamentals.
- Experience contributing to security and safety standards and certification processes.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
