WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you'll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world's most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

The Role:

AMD is building the foundations for the next era of Personal AI – intelligence that runs with people rather than in a distant datacenter, across PCs and personal devices that people use every day.

As the Sr. Manager, AI Strategy & Solutions within the Client and Graphics (CG) business unit, you will define AMD's long-term view of where Personal AI is heading, incubating the technology and business initiatives that position AMD ahead of those shifts, and establish the early partnerships that shape emerging AI ecosystems around AMD's value proposition.

This is a core leadership role engaging directly with strategic customers, ecosystem partners and early start ups, as well as internal AMD teams and subject matter experts.  Based on these engagements, you will drive the strategy on where Personal AI is heading and translate it into the priorities that shape AMD's investment and product roadmap.

The Person:

The successful candidate is

  • A technologist with genuine depth in AI and consumer usecases, with a concrete understanding of AI technologies, inference needs and AI platform tradeoffs.

  • Has a proven track record of originating strategic initiatives, building the case behind them, securing investment and carrying them through to a measurable outcome.

  • A systems thinker with strong ecosystem instincts, at ease across silicon, software, models, applications and partners, and able to recognize where the industry is heading early.

  • Brings exceptional executive communication and influence skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, own and evolve AMD's long-term view of where Personal AI is heading and translate that view into priorities that will strengthen competitive positioning, establish long-term thought leadership and favorably position AMD in the emerging AI ecosystems.

  • Incubate the strategic technology and business initiatives that position AMD ahead of emerging shifts — building the technical and business case behind each, securing investment, and carrying it through to a measurable outcome.

  • Establish early partnerships with AI model providers, application developers, framework and runtime owners, and startups that shape emerging AI ecosystems around AMD's value proposition.

  • Bring clear, data-backed recommendations to CG and AMD executive leadership, and represent AMD credibly with strategic customers, partner executives and technical leaders.

Required Experience

  • 12+ years overall with recent depth in AI.  Experience in technology product management, business development, architecture, corporate strategy and engineering leadership, including direct ownership of a product, platform or partnership outcome.

  • Depth in the Personal AI ecosystem — models, consumer-facing applications, developer frameworks, on-device and hybrid inference — ideally gained at an AI model provider, a consumer AI application company, or a platform or silicon company driving AI technology strategy.

  • Experience shaping silicon, platform or software roadmaps based on real workload, ecosystem and partner requirements, with familiarity across personal computing platforms and the OEM, ISV and operating system ecosystems surrounding them.

  • A record of building strategic relationships that produced measurable results — with customers, ecosystem partners or early-stage companies

  • Experience defining and influencing multi‑year strategies, balancing near‑term execution with long‑term vision.

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in AI, computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering or a related field

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred

Location:

  • Austin, Texas

  • Markham, Canada

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
