THE ROLE:

As Sr. Manager, GPU Power Architecture, you will manage and technically lead AMD's GPU Power Architecture team. This team is responsible for architecting Power Management solutions and developing methodologies and models to drive power efficiency for AMD's Data Center and Gaming GPU products. As the team lead, you will help the team drive the roadmap of GPU Power Management features, manage deliverables to different SoC programs at appropriate milestones, guide advanced prototyping, perform ROI analysis, develop deployment and validation methodologies. You will bring extensive technical domain knowledge, judgement, and leadership abilities to make strategic and tactical decisions that impact the roadmap, execution and market success of DGPU programs. As an experienced people manager, you will mentor and help develop this team of about 10 top notch architects.

 

THE PERSON:

You have a deep understanding of Processor Power Architecture & Management, SoC Product Development cycle, Architecture Feature and Specifications development process, and working on Silicon products based on modern process nodes. You have a track record of strong leadership of teams developing hardware, firmware or software related to SoC Power. You have a passion to drive Perf/Watt and Perf/$ optimizations for world-class GPUs. You have a can-do attitude, excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. You are able to collaborate with and influence a wide array of cross-functional engineering and business functions to achieve program goals.

  • Coach and develop a team of world class GPU Power Architects
  • Build collaborative relationships with partner and peer organizations across the company
  • Work with product teams to understand the Perf/Power/Cost requirements, evangelize for power efficiency, and influence product definition
  • Work cross functionally with Software, Firmware, SoC, IP, Platform, Silicon Technology, and Product teams through every stage of product development, lead technical forums and workgroups, and drive alignment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technically lead and manage a strong DGPU Power Architecture team
  • Drive Power Management Architecture advances and roadmap to maximize power and cost constrained performance for Radeon graphics and MI datacenter platforms
  • Supervise the development of PM features from concept through product launch for families of DGPUs targeted at various market segments
  • Drive the development of methodologies for SoC and System level power analysis and modeling
  • Guide power management feature implementation, verification, emulation and post-silicon validation and tuning in an engineering resource efficient and scalable manner

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven engineering leadership experience in GPU or CPU power architecture
  • Solid background in electrical circuits, VLSI and circuit design fundamentals
  • Deep familiarity with ASIC/SoC Design cycles and methodologies including RTL, Verification, Emulation, Physical Design and post-si validation
  • Fluent familiarity with embedded microcontrollers and firmware, datacenter and PC software stacks
  • Experience managing highly talented engineering teams driving critical initiatives and projects in deep technical areas
  • Collaboration with cross-functional, cross-geography technical teams to deliver industry leading performance and power efficiency in Compute SoC products

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/ Electrical Engineering preferred
