THE ROLE:

This role requires the successful candidate to interact closely with global AMD teams and our H/W vendors & Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners. The job based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, as part of the External Manufacturing Operations department. He/she will cover important aspects of key engineering support and supplier management role, for example, data analysis of test hardware performance, supplier capability measurement, disposition of test hardware issue.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is fluent in both written and spoken English. The person will have strong communication and organizational skills and can multitask on a variety of activities. It is important to be able to work with global teams, across different departments and time zones.  The person is expected to be a team player and to enjoy working with members with different skill sets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Liaise with global AMD teams and the Suppliers to;

  • Manage consigned test equipment in OSAT and ensure sufficient equipment to support production and engineering activities
  • Analyze and debug failing hardware; work with vendor to repair broken hardware
  • Perform equipment GR&R/MSA and resolve discrepancy.
  • Improves equipment stability, availability and maintenance efficiency by analyzing performance matrices, MTBF, utilization and drive maintenance procedure optimization.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
  • Perform audits to ensure vendor and OSAT comply with AMD requirements
  • Perform data analysis to drive cost saving in repair and maintenance activities.
  • Compile manufacturing KPIs and construct regular performance review reports
  • Drive continuous improvement in hardware management process

 

QUALIFICATION AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of high-performance Computing ASIC test process, in particular to active thermal control of ATE and system-level test (SLT).
  • > 5 years of experience in test hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • In-depth experience of active thermal control hardware development or troubleshooting capabilities.
  • In-depth experience in BI/ATE/SLT equipment – tester, handler, test sockets.
  • Experience in using statistical software such as JMP, Minitab or R language.
  • Knowledge of structural problem solving or Python/SQL is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with cross-functional teams remotely would be preferred.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related experience.
