SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD's technology validation team is a group within our Foundry Technology Operations department. The group is located in central Texas but interfaces with support teams across the globe. Members of the technology validation team are primarily responsible for the design and characterization of advanced manufacturing technology. The team focuses on obtaining critical data on yield, performance, and reliability to accelerate AMD product adoption. The team is also responsible for characterizing some of AMD's future IP. The work done by the technology validation team paves the way for AMD's product roadmap and ensures informed decision making by the executive team. The team interfaces directly with all of AMD's internal and external customers and suppliers.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate brings strong debugging and problem-solving abilities, paired with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They are a collaborative team player with solid interpersonal skills and can effectively manage multiple concurrent, fast‑moving projects while maintaining focus and quality.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Developing and supporting a verification environment
  • Designing verification coverage to ensure appropriate operations
  • Converting and delivering test content to extract information from designs
  • Designing and executing experiments to verify design and Si
  • Analyzing data and reporting on results
  • Delivering the next 5% innovation strategy to further the team's mission

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven experience driving verification/simulation activities
  • Knowledge of verification environments, tools, and automation (ex. UVM, VCS)
  • Strong understanding of DFT methods (ATPG/Scan Logic)
  • Good working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and scripting languages

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  •  B.S in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)

Austin, TX
