The Position:

AMD is currently looking for a Senior Manager, Global OEM Channel Business to be a leader within the Enterprise and HPC Business Group which is part of the Server Business Unit.  This new role is a combination of product/portfolio management, technical marketing, and business development role.  This key leadership solutions role includes developing a clear perspective on channel needs, application profiles, competitive strengths, weaknesses, and technology trends. With this and your deep understanding of key server hardware, storage, and interconnects, you will define a vision and build and execute a marketing and sales plan in coordination with AMD's regional channel leaders and the regional marketing teams.  The execution of this business plan will span working with key channel partners, our ISV and Verticals team, and our OEM Portfolio and Marketing Management teams.  While you will build and lead a dedicated staff over time, your leadership will be equally important in working to orchestrate the implementation of your business plan through various cross-functional AMD teams. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Global GTM and regional sales teams to develop and implement a channel strategy, including distributors, VARs, and GSIs
  • Define and drive Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, and Corporate Marketing to deliver marketing and sales assets and campaigned needed for channel enablement
  • Leads sales play enablement for the channel
    • Develop and execute through ISV and Verticals Team, Product Marketing, and OEMs
    • Build differentiated sales play by OEM in coordination with the Portfolio and Marketing Management Teams
    • Drives orchestration of AMD and OEM sales play execution
  • Manage investment and ROI of channel funded head count
  • Lead feedback by channel partners, OEMs, and AMD channel management into Server BU
  • Work with your counterpart on the Channel MDC business

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 15 years demonstrated success in comparable roles, developing strong customer relationships which have led to sales success.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the enterprise channel with VARs/SIs and OEMs
  • Technical and business acumen.
  • Ability to influence and project-manage global, cross-functional teams.
  • Executive presentation skills to multiple stakeholders: customers, analysts, technical experts and business leaders.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field.  MBA a plus.
