THE ROLE:
We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated design verification engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will be part of a leading team helping drive and enhance AMD's ability to deliver the highest-quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Verification Engineering team fosters continuous technical innovation, showcases engineering successes, and supports ongoing career development.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification. You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers across multiple sites and time zones. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a willingness to learn, and the drive to take on complex technical challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain tests for functional and performance verification at the core and IP levels
- Build and enhance testbench components to support next-generation IP
- Maintain and improve existing test libraries to enable robust IP-level testing
- Create hardware emulation builds to verify IP functionality and performance
- Maintain and improve the hardware emulation environment to accelerate runtime performance and enhance debug capabilities
- Provide technical support and collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Contribute to RTL design and support implementation through the full physical design flow
- Perform and analyze static timing analysis (STA), EMIR, and power integrity checks
- Support physical implementation from RTL through GDS, including timing, EMIR, and related signoff analyses
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient in C/C++ • Familiarity with SystemVerilog and modern verification methodologies such as UVM
- Hands-on experience with RTL design and full-chip or block-level physical implementation to GDS
- Experience using STA, EMIR, and PNR tools for physical implementation and analysis
- Background in Computing and/or Graphics is a plus • Experience with OpenGL, OpenCL, and/or Direct3D is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
