THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a Senior System Administrator to join our IT department. Your responsibilities include supervising our Operations team, monitoring system performance, and configuring new software and hardware.

 

THE PERSON:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7-8 years of proven experience in providing technical support for desktop systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. As a Senior Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our organization's desktop infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and providing exceptional customer service to our internal users.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to the team to ensure the highest level of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with global IT teams on projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and standards.
Participate in IT projects and initiatives related to desktop infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals, including laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software applications.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Respond to service requests and incidents reported by end-users via ServiceNow, and provide timely resolution or escalation as needed.
Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues that cannot be resolved at the desktop level.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure the stability and security of desktop systems.
Create and maintain documentation for desktop configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides.
Assist with the setup and configuration of new desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices for new employees.
Provide user training and support on various software applications and IT systems.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in desktop support to continuously improve service delivery and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and security standards.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
7-8 years of experience in desktop support or a related IT field.
Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with end-users of all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred
