THE ROLE:

This is a great opportunity to join a global supply chain organization to influence across functions & regions (Finance, Business Units, Engineering), using your advanced product planning, analytical and problem-solving skills. We are seeking a Supply Chain Professional with NPI launch preparedness coordination, accuracy of supply plans for NPI/Sustaining products, cost/benefit analysis, and proactive inventory management. In this role you will enable NPI capability and capacity for NPI throughout PLM Phases for all products supporting AMD growth.

 

THE PERSON:

In this role you will have complete ownership of the NPI planning and Advanced level packaging forecast. You have the ability to collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams to support successful NPI ramps. You 

react quickly to change in input signals and analyze based on these changes and provide directions to mitigate possible risks. As a key member of this organization your ability to collaborate with teams across the globe is vital. 

You possess an analytical mindset with a drive to continuous improvement. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Analyze supply-demand matching, based on MRP system, to determine root cause changes, shortages and surpluses, and identify and drive course corrections.
  • Review all MRP inputs with functional owners to drive accountability and data accuracy (Yields, BOM, Capacity, etc.).
  • Product Life Cycle Management
  • Support PLM gate reviews for NPI from Feasibility to Production Ramp Exit gate
  • NPI Planning
  • Work closely with SCT Team to plan for capability and capacity:
  • NPI milestones for UU, Package Qual, EVT, DVT, Qi (IP) and Qi+1 Launch readiness
  • Site identifications and Site Qualification schedules. Provide priority accordingly.
  • Gather ENG samples and indices to support ENG activities at production sites
  • Owner for Sort and Test Hardware reusability and new HW requirement
  • Communicate to SCT on CAPEX proposals and drive towards optimized costs
  • Identify AOP budget commits and deliveries
  • Understand business model of consignments, lead times, budget allocations
  • Update CAPEX approval products for HW inventory tracking
  • Prepare documentation and represent supply chain at gate review forums
  • Working closely with Capacity team (Asia and Austin) and Procurement
  • Guide site allocations depending upon site readiness especially at Qi to Qi+1
  • Ability to explain about NPI and how it impacts Supply Chain especially capacity/CAPEX
  • Generate Advanced Packaging Backend wafer forecasts to secure long term capacity reservations with Fab supplier each month
  • Provide delta analysis of demand versus capacity
  • Maintain historical forecasts and assumptions and ability to explain the revision changes
  • Work with NPI teams/ Wafer teams/GPO and BU to close on the starts requirement to support supply projection
  • Improve supply projection process through automation projects

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience with Supply Planning in Semiconductor Industry
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing flow in semiconductor industry
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional organizations and address issues independently
  • Strong Business acumen
  • Know-how of supply chain theory and processes, operational execution & operations needs are critical. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.  
  • Experience working in a semiconductor company or OSAT, with strong understanding of logistical system processes desired  
  • Working experience using SAP, Rapid Response preferred
  • Planning system experience  
  • Proven understanding of NPI milestones

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Background in IE or Operations management and Supply chain preferred
