THE ROLE:

This role is a key position for the AMD Data Center Platform Engineering team within the Datacenter Solutions Group. This individual will be responsible for operational execution of cost and pricing decisions on new and existing products. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-directed, high-output individual with a background in technology hardware business planning and data analytics. They'll navigate a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, adapting their communication style to various audiences at the working level and with executive leadership to make data-driven recommendations that have a technical, business, and financial impact. The person will possess the ability to build positive partnerships with executives and across teams to deliver insights, recommendations and reports on a timely, regular basis.

 

THE PERSON:

Beyond the operational execution, a successful candidate will also have experience identifying and implementing business process and system improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with architects, system engineers, technical program managers, and procurement personnel to create costed bills of material (BOMs) for rack and cluster level solutions
  • Partner with business development teams on total cost of ownership (TCO) models
  • Evaluation of business unit financial goals and pricing strategies
  • Execution of pricing requests from submission through final approval 
  • Partnership with Sales and Finance organizations to accurately evaluate impact of pricing decision
  • Translate pricing decisions into clear operational actions driving communication and working cross functionally to operationalize
  • Drive detailed systems analysis to create or improve cross-functional business processes across product, operations, business development, and program management teams

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Past experience at a technology hardware company
  • Demonstration of ownership and analytical abilities
  • Understanding of Finance and Accounting principles
  • Ability to communicate and present across multiple teams
  • Expert level analytical skills in Excel
  • Proficient in dashboard design elements in Power BI or similar
  • Practical experience in power queries, ETL workflows, DAX, and SQL
  • Intermediate knowledge of IT best practices in data warehousing

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's degree in business (Finance, Marketing, etc.), Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or related field; MBA is an advantage
