JOB DETAILS:
- Location: Austin, TX, US
- Onsite/Hybrid: These roles require the student to work full time (40 hours), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
- Duration: September 8th, 2025 - December 12th, 2025
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Be part of a high-performance Procurement team that manages sourcing and contract execution across all global end customers. The team is part of AMD's Direct Procurement, and we encompass support sourcing and contracting of preferred vendors, analyzing market intelligence, and using existing analytics for decision making. We work closely with stakeholders across the organization to achieve company goals and quarterly targets.
You will be part of the AMD Direct Procurement team supporting the Logistics/PIB (‘Processor in a Box'). You will have the opportunity to learn the many different facets of procurement supporting the Logistics and PIB Group while engaging with various support organizations including Global Trade, Physical Security, Cyber Security, Legal, and Finance.
We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Co-op to join our Global Operations Team and in this role:
- Collaborate with business partners on Logistics and PIB
- Support the strategic sourcing process, including analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction, and agreement negotiations.
- Support supplier performance to meet contractual requirements and minimize risk.
- Contribute to the commodity strategies that align with team requirements.
- Provide recommendations on sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation using analytics.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Support negotiations on pricing, contracts, and statements of work with suppliers, internal clients, and legal support.
- Support sourcing projects to closure.
- Prepare reports and presentation to management .
- Work with and support the Logistics and PIB operations to collectively optimize spend and the supplier base.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- You are currently enrolled in a US based University into a undergraduate program majoring in Supply Chain or Procurement, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, or equivalent.
- If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
- Proficiency in commodity strategy planning, contract negotiation, source-to-pay processes, and market analytics.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
- Strong data analysis experience managing huge datasets.
- Experience with SAP Ariba Sourcing is a plus!
- ThoughtSpot and PowerBi are a plus!
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, who can present to all levels.
- Outstanding negotiation and communication skills are critical to this role.
- Enjoy working with people and numbers.
- Ability to engage different partners to achieve targets.
