THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a dynamic, upbeat system test engineer to join our growing team within NTSG - Network Technology Solutions Group. As a key contributor you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.  

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for system testing, automation, and is diligent and passionate about DPU Technology.  Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Validate new SW features at a system level before releasing them to customers.  
  • Active contribution to the day-to-day activities of the System Test in an Agile environment.
  • Write Test plans and review it with all stakeholders to cover the scenarios comprehensively and execute efficiently.
  • Build maintainable, high quality and effective automated test scripts.
  • Review and triage test failures and verify fixes.
  • Help customer reported issues by reproducing the issue locally, work with peer teams for faster resolution.
  • Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to networking and accelerators.
  • Debugging complex technical issues and collaborate with peer teams.
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners
  • Participating in new ASIC and hardware bring ups.
  • Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong experience in Networking Testing and Automation roles.
  • Proficiency in writing Automation Scripts using Python Experience in various test tools, performance testing tools such as Ixia, etc.,
  • Solid understanding of automation framework and well verse with Python.
  • Prior experience in Cloud, Security, Data Center technologies is an added advantage
  • Hands-on experience in Kubernetes is desired.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of operating systems, kernel mode programming, device drivers, and related technologies and architectures
  • Good interpersonal skills and effective communication
  • Ability to write high quality automation code with a keen attention to detail
  • Good understanding of Linux operating system and hypervisor (VMware ESX/KVM)
  • Familiarity with DPU/SmartNics is a plus.
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
