THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead / Principal Systems Design Engineer to join our team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. Working with multiple function teams inside and outside of AMD to accomplish complex projects with aggressive schedule. The System Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.  

THE PERSON:  

A quick learner for new technologies. Excellent communication skill (both verbal and written), including Mandarin and English. Key performance skills include decision making, problem solving, teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Responsible for AMD internal reference platform and customer project schedule alignment, sample delivering and customer interlocks
• Debugging platform issues found during the process, bring-up, post-si validation, and production phases of SOC programs 
• Represent AMD platform design teams to join project core team meeting and customer's call.
• Dynamically prioritize the multiple projects, always put the effort on the most critical projects.
• Program management system maintaining, and continually process improvement.
• Relationship management with customers and dealing with customer's escalations.
  
• Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across validation, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Minimum of 8 years program management or technical leadership experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Leadership – Demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional teams in an R&D and/or customer support environment. Ensures optimal use of assigned resources. Effectively influences laterally/up/down to achieve goal.
• Exec Communications – Extensive experience with executive presentations and proposals including the ability to summarize complex situations and recommendations succinctly.
• Problem Solving and decision making - Able to collect the necessary data/input and provide the team the work direction.
• Drive for results mindset – Able to use above capability to get customer's product launch on time.
• Proficient English and Mandarin (listening, writing and speaking).
• Knowledge of x86 and/or ARM based product development flow, production reliability verification, validation and compatibility testing.
• Strong knowledge for BIOS, hardware design, Driver, OS (one of them), basically knowledge of system debug.

• Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization 
• Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy 
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details 
• Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

• Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering 
• x86/ARM based product working experience, including technical program manager or direct engineering experience.
