Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world's largest companies.

The Software Developer will be responsible for crafting high-quality solutions that are consistently maintained across the entire suite of applications created by the IMS Software Development team. This role encompasses the development of both new and existing modules, addressing functionality gaps, and leveraging the latest technologies. The ideal candidate will also assist our current user base by performing routine tasks in production environments and updating our online wiki pages. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate Software Developer who is eager to make a substantial impact by technically shaping and enhancing a best-in-class application suite.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Collaborate on solution design specifications for the IMS platform, identifying innovative approaches to meet business requirements while upholding robust and reliable technical standards.

  • Offer domain-specific knowledge and overall technical expertise to the IMS Development Team within a supportive and innovative environment.

  • Deliver exceptional support to our growing user base.

  • Occasionally visit customer sites to install and commission IMS implementations.

  • Partner with external customers to identify and assist in developing specifications for product enhancements.

  • Adhere to agile methodology and utilise Scrum in our projects.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

  • Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

  • Expertise in full-stack development utilising the latest .NET Core frameworks.

  • Proficient in creating dynamic, responsive front-end API designs and integrations using ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX, HTML5, and Bootstrap, along with SQL-based database design and optimisation using Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.

  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) employing unit-testing frameworks.

  • User-focused and empathetic, with a keen understanding of the challenges our customers face and how they use our products now and in the future.

  • Driven by curiosity and a desire to learn new technologies and explore modern development patterns.

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering highly available, scalable cloud-based systems.
